Nichols-Rowland

Amelia Ann Nichols and Eric Dewayne Rowland were united in marriage November 7, 2009 at two o’clock in the afternoon at First Baptist Church in Leland, Mississippi.  Dr. Jon Doler performed the ceremony.

 

The bride is the daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Steve Nichols of Lubbock, Texas, formerly of Leland, Mississippi, and the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Preston O. Jones, Sr., of Greenville, Mississippi and Mr. Jimmy Ray Nichols, Sr., of Leland, Mississippi, and the late Mrs. Joann Nichols.

 

The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Terry Rowland of Greenville, Mississippi and is the grandson of Mrs. Linda Rowland and Mrs. Betty Toler and the late Mr. Earl Toler.

 

The bride was given in marriage by her parents. The bride wore a designer gown by Maggie Sottero of silk organza fashioned with a corset, strapless A-line gown, fitted dropped waistline romantically embellished with embroidered beaded motif comprised of Swarovski crystals, bugle beads, seed beads, glass beads, and sequins.  The skirt featured royal embellishments detailing the caught up accents cascading into a bubble hem chapel train.   The bride carried a bouquet of sunflowers, roses, lilies and seeded eucalyptus.  Her bouquet was hand tied with her great-grandmother’s handkerchief with her initial and her grandmother’s pearls.  Her only jewelry was her mother’s pearl necklace.

 

Attending the bride as her maid of honor was her sister Suzanne Paige Nichols of Leland, Mississippi.  Bridesmaids were Nikki Chancellor of Starkville, Mississippi, Brittany Lane of Ruston, Louisiana, Amber Simpson of Jackson, Mississippi, Jamie Nelson of Oxford, Mississippi, and Ashlea Machart of Houston, Texas.

 

Bridal attendants wore a chocolate truffle strapless satin A-line dress with an ivory satin sash.  The bridesmaids carried a smaller version of the bride’s bouquet.

 

The groom’s best man was Daryl Clinton Buchanon of Baton Rouge, Louisiana.  Groomsmen were Gary Bonner of Houston, Texas, Josh Carlisle of St. Louis, Missouri, Stephen Mabus of Prineville, Oregon, Logan Phillips of Starkville, Mississippi, and Joseph Harris of Greenville, Mississippi.

 

Grooms attendants wore a chocolate brown notched lapel tuxedo by Jean Yves with a riviera café vest, matching tie and chocolate brown tuxedo trousers with a satin stripe down the outside leg.  The boutonnieres were cotton bolls from the Mississippi Delta with fall foliage.

 

Program attendant was Alex Jones of Ruston, Louisiana.  Bridal registry attendant was Sara Jones of Ruston, Louisiana.  Mrs. Betty Ruscoe of Leland, Mississippi was director of the wedding.  Pianist was Mrs. Cindy Deloach and vocalist was Mrs. Jayne Doolittle.

 

Following the ceremony, the bride’s parents hosted a reception at Deer Creek Town and Country Club, Leland, Mississippi.  The groom’s parents hosted a rehearsal dinner at Lillo’s Restaurant, Leland, Mississippi.

 

After a honeymoon in Jamaica, the couple will reside in McComb, Mississippi where the bride is a dental hygienist and the groom is currently in nursing school and part-time EMT.
